Commissioned to develop a sustainable residential community, our objective was to achieve top-tier green building certifications while delivering an enduring, high-performance asset for the homeowners.

Advanced Green Material Infrastructure and Low-Carbon Foundations

The engineering foundation of this project relied on selecting structural elements that minimize embodied carbon. Conta replaced traditional high-emission concrete with an advanced, low-carbon mix enriched with fly ash and blast-furnace slag, which significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions while actually improving long-term moisture resistance. For the structural framework, we utilized responsibly sourced, certified engineered timber beams, providing superior strength-to-weight ratios compared to traditional steel framing while acting as a natural carbon sink.

High-Performance Envelopes and Smart Resource Management

To ensure maximum operational efficiency, Conta engineered a tight, high-performance building envelope. We deployed advanced structural insulated panels (SIPs) paired with non-toxic, hemp-based thermal insulation to eliminate thermal bridging entirely. The windows feature custom-crafted, sustainably sourced wooden frames fitted with argon-filled, triple-glazed low-E glass, dramatically reducing the homes' heating and cooling demands. Additionally, the interior walls were finished with zero-VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) natural plasters and clay paints, guaranteeing pristine indoor air quality from the moment the residents moved in.
