French Explorer Kids
Program Overview
French Explorer Kids is a dynamic and adventurous linguistic journey designed for children who are ready to move beyond the basics and start building their communicative independence. This program shifts the focus from simple word recognition to the construction of meaningful sentences and the development of spontaneous speaking habits. By immersing students in a series of thematic "expeditions" — from exploring the deep blue sea to navigating a bustling French marketplace — we make language acquisition an exciting quest. Our goal is to transform passive knowledge into active communication, ensuring that every student feels empowered to express their thoughts, curiosity, and personality through the beautiful French language.
Target Age & Level
Target Age: 7 – 9 years old (Primary School Age)
Level: Elementary (Explorer – Suitable for those who have completed Discovery or have basic foundations)
Class Size: Optimized groups of 6 – 10 students to foster peer interaction and collaborative learning.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this engaging intermediate stage, your child will have mastered the following core competencies:
Sentence Construction: Move beyond single nouns to building complete, grammatically correct sentences using basic verbs and descriptive adjectives to explain the world around them.
Functional Communication: Develop the ability to ask and answer essential questions, participate in short dialogues, and navigate common social scenarios such as ordering food or asking for directions.
Thematic Literacy: Master a sophisticated vocabulary of over 350 words related to daily routines, hobbies, weather patterns, and community environments.
Enhanced Phonetics: Refine their accent through "Phonics Workshops" that focus on liaison, silent letters, and the rhythmic flow (intonation) of natural French speech.
Course Curriculum
(A structured 12-week adventure into deeper language mastery)
Weeks 1-3: My Daily Life & Routines Students learn to describe their day-to-day activities, from waking up to going to school. We introduce the first group of regular verbs and practice talking about time, helping children connect French to their actual life schedules.
Weeks 4-6: The Explorer’s Marketplace & Taste This module dives into the delicious world of French gastronomy. Children learn to identify various foods, express their likes and dislikes, and practice the polite art of "buying and selling" in a simulated French market environment.
Weeks 7-9: Weather, Seasons & Adventure Gear We explore the changing seasons and the diverse climates of the French-speaking world. Students learn to describe the weather and choose the appropriate clothing, integrating practical vocabulary with environmental science.
Weeks 10-12: Cities, Maps & Future Dreams The final weeks focus on navigation and community. Students learn to describe their neighborhood, give simple directions, and talk about what they want to be when they grow up, culminating in a creative "My Dream City" project presentation.
Key Activities
Scenario-Based Simulations: We create "real-life" sets in the classroom where students must use their French to solve problems, such as finding a lost item or organizing a pretend birthday party for a friend.
Collaborative Team Projects: Students work in pairs or small groups to create maps, posters, or short skits. This fosters "social learning" and encourages them to help each other refine their French usage.
Cultural Discovery Workshops: Each lesson includes a "Passport Moment" where we explore a specific French-speaking country or region, looking at their unique traditions, landmarks, and traditional children’s games.
Interactive Digital Storytelling: Moving beyond listening, students begin to contribute to stories, choosing "choose-your-own-adventure" paths that require them to use their vocabulary to decide the hero's next move.
Duration & Schedule
Total Course Duration: 24 high-energy sessions conducted over a 3-month academic term.
Estimated Learning Time: 75 minutes per session — slightly longer to allow for deeper project work and interactive dialogue practice.
Weekly Frequency: 2 sessions per week, providing the ideal balance between immersion and academic sustainability.
Flexible Session Options: Morning, Afternoon, or Evening slots are available to ensure a seamless fit with your child's primary school commitments.
